In one simple sentence, the Deputy Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sir Amarachi Chyna Iwuanyanwu, has acquired the quintessential requisite experience in the business of politics and political interactions.

He reconfirmed that on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Obi Igbo Amaigbo Paramount Kingdom in Nwangele LGA, when he paid an electioneering consultation/campaign visit to Amaigbo.

Like a practising orator and expert professional public speaking practitioner, the Deputy Speaker spoke to Amaigbo people in the language they evidently understood and appreciated.

It was a scheduled visit, at the auspices of the President-General of Amaigbo Town Union (ATU), Engr. Fyne Madumere and his Executive Committee members.

It turned out to be a Town Hall meeting with a sizeable number of ATU Exco members, Amaigbo leaders, stakeholders and people in attendance.

On the entourage of the Deputy Speaker was a formidable delegation of the leadership and members of the United Isu Progressive Union.

In his welcome speech, Engr. Fyne Madumere, after formally welcoming the Deputy Speaker, stated that the purpose of the get-together was to hear from the Deputy Speaker on his plans for Amaigbo in the forthcoming general elections and going forward.

The President-General, however, prognosticated that with the way things are going so far, it was only voting for Rt. Hon. Amarachi Chyna Iwuanyanwu to serve out a second term that would be very beneficial for Amaigbo.

The PG stated he was convinced that after the Deputy Speaker’s second term in office in 2027, it would be the incontrovertible turn and right of Amaigbo to produce the next honourable member that will represent Nwangele State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly.

Engr. Fyne Madumere, therefore, appealed to Ndi Amaigbo to apply wisdom in voting during the forthcoming general elections, so that the political future of Amaigbo can be guaranteed.

In his speech, Rt. Hon. Amarachi Chyna Iwuanyanwu, thanked the Sole Administrator of Nwangele, Prince Charles Mbachu; the traditional ruler of Amaigbo, HRH Eze Nelson Chinyere Nwosu; the President-General of Amaigbo Town Union (ATU); the ATU President, Women Wing; and indeed a host of other leaders and stakeholders present at the meeting for the warm hospitality accorded him.

He also thanked Amaigbo women, Amaigbo youths, and entire Amaigbo people for their sustainable support all through his first term as Nwangele State Constituency representatives since 2019 and still counting.

Speaking further, the Deputy Speaker said:

“I believe I have done well for Nwangele people. I have not disappointed Nwangele people. I have not disappointed Amaigbo. I have not disappointed Amaigbo people. That is why I confidently approach Nwangele people and Amaigbo people to vote for me, re-elect me for second term, and give me their mandate to serve them for another four years.

“Amaigbo has a number of their sons, daughters and wives that were offered political appointments by His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Executive Governor of Imo State.

“Specifically, Amaigbo has two Grade A State Commissioners, three Senior Special Assistants to the Governor, the Sole Administrator of Nwangele LGA, the Chairman of Nwangele APC Chairman, the Nwangele APC Campaign Council Chairman and other appointees at other levels.

“I will inform Ndi Amaigbo again that Governor Uzodimma so loves Amaigbo that he has probably more people from Amaigbo into his government and cabinet than he has done for any other autonomous community in Imo State.

“Amaigbo has the majority of the political appointments made by Governor Uzodimma to Nwangele LGA. Governor Uzodimma sees great potentials in Amaigbo and he is willing to do more for Amaigbo.

“I made a lot of necessary sacrifice and insisted that Amaigbo should get those appointments, of which another person in my position would have rationalized the appointments to favour his own autonomous community or other autonomous communities.

“I feel it is important that Amaigbo reciprocates Governor Uzodimma’s love for Amaigbo by supporting him and his party, APC, at all levels in the elections coming up in the next few weeks.

“Please, Ndi Amaigbo, endeavour to vote for APC in the President, Senate, House of Representatives, House of Assembly elections, and prepare to also vote for APC and Governor Uzodimma in November later this year. It will be to the collective benefit of Amaigbo, Nwangele, Imo State and Nigeria.

“When you re-elect me for a second term, I will continue with the good work I have started doing in Amaigbo and entire Nwangele LGA. I will provide more infrastructure projects. I will focus on erosion ravaged roads. I will ensure that schools and primary health centres in the five wards of Amaigbo and other wards in Nwangele receive regular attention. I promise to do a lot more for Amaigbo and Nwangele.

“Finally, I stand here today to reconfirm my vows and promises that I will hand over the office of the Honourable member representing Nwangele State Constituency in the State House of Assembly to an Amaigbo person in 2027. That office needs to return to Amaigbo.

“Please, let us do more together and advance the ongoing development of our LGA and our constituent autonomous communities, and empower our people, particularly the youths for better life. Thank you for your warm hospitality and reception. God bless Amaigbo. God bless Nwangele.”

There were other speakers at the occasion, including Prince Charles Mbachu, Chief Philip Uwazuruonye, Chief Chris Akano, Chief Charles Nnorom, High Chief Ezekiel Chukwukere and few others, though the President-General stressed earlier that it was not a speech making day.

Some other notable leaders present included Chief Melody Mbamara, Chief Charles Iwunze, Hon. Ambrose Ejiogu, Chief Paul Duru, Chief Mike Akwaiwu, Hon. Mrs. Maureen Chimara and indeed a lot of others, whom space won’t permit us to list them exhaustively. We’re sorry about that!

The highpoint of the occasion was when the President-General, Engr. Fyne Madumere, announced the promises made by Rt. Hon. Amarachi Chyna Iwuanyanwu to Amaigbo people, with the promise to hand over to an Amaigbo person as the ultimate.

That revelation by the Amaigbo President-General elicited very loud ovation and prolonged applause from the people of Amaigbo and others in the hall.

Generally, it was a very good event, which saw the ultra-modern, state-of-the-art “Obi Igbo Amaigbo Hall” almost filled to capacity with Amaigbo men, women and youths, that trooped out hear from the Deputy Speaker and representative, Rt. Hon. Sir Amarachi Chyna Iwuanyanwu.

The attendance was so impressive that it’ll be impossible listing all the people present, including very important dignitaries and personalities, and indeed the who’s who in Amaigbo, and leaders other parts of Nwangele LGA. We plead for all to bear with us!

To God be the glory!

By God’s grace, Imo State is being recovered, reconstructed and rehabilitated by Governor Uzodimma!

Always expect the best from Governor Uzodimma!
